Today was my last day at Rackspace after a little more than ten years.

That’s a strange sentence to write.

I joined in 2016 working with Azure, and over the years the work changed quite a bit, cloud engineering, automation, DevOps, software development, platform engineering. Somewhere along the way, a lot of the things that started as scripts or process improvements grew into tools, services, and platforms that people relied on.

I’m proud of that work, but I’m even more grateful for the people. I got to work with some extremely talented engineers, learned a tremendous amount, and made friendships that I hope will last well beyond my time there.

There were a lot of challenges over ten years, but there were also a lot of opportunities to build things, solve problems, and keep learning. I’m thankful for all of it. Now I’m looking ahead to whatever comes next. I’m especially interested in software and platform engineering roles centered around C#/.NET, cloud automation, APIs, infrastructure as code, and AI-assisted engineering.

For everyone I worked with at Rackspace over the years: thank you. I hope our paths cross again.
